Dear pool members:
As some of you may be aware the state of Georgia as well as Chatham County have regulations that must be followed by all operators of community pools. These regulations are designed to assure safety and hygiene. They mandate frequency of water testing, type and placements of grates and pool structure, plus many other things. We were advised last year that we would need to resurface the pool at the end of the 2018 season and we are making plans to do that. In addition, the state has changed water testing regulations requiring testing to be done twice a day. This added testing burden as well as some other new state requirements will increase our cost to operate the pool by several thousand a year. This has required us to increase the fee for pool membership to $500.00 a year. In addition, beginning next year (2019) we will require all new pool members, to pay a onetime initiation fee of $400.00. Existing members who maintain membership will not have to pay this fee. Renters whose landlord pays for pool membership will also be exempt. The exception to his will be if a member drops out for a year or more then comes back they will be treated like a new member and an initiation fee will be required.
